VARTA fitment data for the Niro II (SG2) lists a type 012 EFB, 207 x 175 x 190 mm, at 50 Ah and 550 A for the 1.6 GDi full hybrid; a type 027 EFB, 242 x 175 x 190 mm, at 60 Ah and 640 A for the plug-in hybrid; and a conventional type 027 of 60 Ah and 540 A for the EV, where it is the 12 V system battery rather than the traction pack. Measure the battery you remove before ordering.

Does the Kia Niro need an AGM or EFB battery?

EFB on the full hybrid and the plug-in hybrid, with AGM available in both sizes as an upgrade. The EV is listed with a conventional battery as its recommendation. Match the technology printed on the battery you take out. The 12 V battery in a hybrid or EV still runs the control electronics, so do not fit something cheaper than what came out.
