What the OE fitment data lists for this car
| Engine | Batteries listed |
|---|---|

Source: published VARTA battery-finder fitment data (varta-automotive.com) for the Citroen C3 IV (CC21), consulted August 2026. We would rather tell you this page is unconfirmed than publish a number we cannot stand behind. The rest of the battery pages on this site now carry per-engine OE data; this one does not yet. Where more than one battery is listed, the manufacturer fits different sizes across builds — measure the battery you remove, or confirm by registration, before ordering.
This page is flagged as unverified. The C3 IV (CC21) is not yet covered by the OE fitment tool we use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What battery does a Citroën C3 need?
We cannot confirm this one from OE data yet. The C3 IV (CC21, 2024 onwards) is not listed in the manufacturer fitment tool we use for the rest of the site, and the type 027 figure shown here is carried over from the previous C3 rather than confirmed for the new car. The 560 CCA figure that used to appear on this page did not come from an OE source and has been removed. Measure the battery you remove, or confirm by registration, before ordering.
Does the Citroën C3 need an AGM or EFB battery?
If your C3 has stop-start, EFB is the minimum and AGM is an upgrade, as on any stop-start car. We cannot confirm from OE data which technology Citroen fits to the C3 IV specifically. The reliable check is the label on the battery you take out: replace EFB with EFB and AGM with AGM, and never drop a stop-start car back to a plain flooded battery.
How long does a Citroën C3 battery last?
Typically 4–6 years depending on driving patterns. Short urban journeys and cold winters reduce battery life. Start-stop systems are harder on batteries, so quality EFB batteries are essential.
Can I replace the Citroën C3 battery myself?
Yes for most models — it’s usually located in the engine bay. However, start-stop vehicles may need the battery management system reset with a diagnostic tool after fitting.
How we check fitment for this guide
We cross-reference fitment figures against manufacturer specifications and OE-supplier catalogue data where available, and matched to the standard codes that actually govern fit — battery type/group sizes, wiper lengths and fitting types, bulb fitment codes, tyre size markings, and oil specifications. We work by make, model, year, engine, and build date, because a single model can take different parts across its life. Where the right part depends on your exact vehicle, we tell you to confirm by registration or VIN. More on our method →
