Why Your Corsa Needs PSA 0W-30 (Not dexos2)
The Corsa F is built on Stellantis underpinnings and uses the PSA 1.2 PureTech petrol engine (and, early on, the 1.5 BlueHDi diesel). Both are designed around 0W-30 oil to the PSA B71 2312 standard — a low-SAPS formulation that protects the diesel particulate filter and, crucially, the PureTech’s oil-immersed timing belt.
This is the single most common Corsa oil mistake: earlier GM-era Corsas (D/E) used 5W-30 dexos2, so generic advice and many parts shops still suggest 5W-30. In a PureTech engine that is the wrong oil — it can degrade the wet belt and lead to expensive failure. Always match 0W-30 + PSA B71 2312.
