Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. Who we are

CarCompatibility.com (“the Site”) is operated by CarCompatibility.com
(“we”, “us”). Our address for correspondence is CarCompatibility.com,
United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@carcompatibility.com.

2. What the Site is

The Site publishes general information about car consumables and
parts (batteries, bulbs, wiper blades, engine oil, filters, spark plugs
and similar) for UK-market vehicles, and links to retailers where those
parts can be bought. The Site is free to use and is funded by
advertising and affiliate commissions (see section 7).

3. Using the Site

By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree,
please do not use the Site. You may use the Site for personal,
non-commercial reference. You may link to our pages. You may not
reproduce substantial parts of the Site, or extract or re-use
substantial parts of our data, without our written permission. Ordinary
indexing by search engines and answer engines, and brief quotations with
attribution, are permitted.

4.
Information only — please confirm before you buy or fit

The Site provides general information, not advice about your
particular vehicle. Vehicle specifications vary by engine, trim, market
and build date, and manufacturers change parts without notice. Some of
our information is compiled from manufacturer and supplier catalogues;
some has been checked against manufacturer data and is labelled
accordingly; not every figure on every page has been individually
verified.

Before buying or fitting any part you should confirm it against your
vehicle handbook, your registration or VIN, or the retailer’s own
fitment check. If anything on the Site conflicts with your handbook or
the manufacturer’s data, rely on the handbook or manufacturer. Work on
vehicles can be dangerous; if you are not confident or competent to do a
job safely, use a qualified mechanic.

5. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or
personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent
misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or
limited by law.

Subject to that, and because the Site is free and provides general
information only: (a) we do not promise that the Site or its content is
accurate, complete, up to date or suitable for your vehicle; (b) we are
not responsible for products you buy from third parties (including
Amazon) — your contract is with the retailer, and your statutory rights
against that retailer are unaffected; (c) we are not liable for loss or
damage that was not a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or
our failure to use reasonable care and skill; (d) if you use the Site
for business purposes, we exclude liability for loss of profit,
business, revenue or goodwill and for indirect or consequential loss,
and our total liability to a business user is limited to £100.

6. Reporting errors

We want to know about mistakes. If you believe a fitment detail is
wrong, email hello@carcompatibility.com with the page, your make, model,
year and engine, and we will re-check it against the source data.

We display advertising (including Google AdSense) and use affiliate
links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Affiliate links are identified on each page and do not change the price
you pay. Our recommendations are not influenced by commission rates. See
our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

8. Third-party sites and
brands

Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we do not
control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Vehicle, parts and retailer names and marks are used only to identify
the products they refer to. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or
connected to any vehicle or parts manufacturer or retailer.

9. Intellectual property

The text, images, tables and compilation of data on the Site are
owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and database
right. Facts and specifications are not claimed as our property.

10. Changes and availability

We may change or remove content, and change these Terms, at any time.
The current version is the one published on the Site. We may suspend or
withdraw the Site without notice.

11. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are
a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also rely on
the mandatory consumer law of, and bring proceedings in, your home
country. Otherwise the courts of England and Wales have exclusive
jurisdiction.
